Simon stands about regular height, with shaggy brown hair and blue eyes. He tends to wear clothes that are of more expensive material and make than those he usually associates with because he comes from a higher class background than they do. In the same manner, he holds himself high with his chest out and his shoulders up - it is out of habit more than anything, though if pressed he would discover (and may be surprised about it) that he did consider himself better than the people around him.

DOCTOR: In his time, Simon is a doctor, and has all skills associated with that. He also has a genius level intellect. Other than that, he's human - so he has no specific superpowers. 

history

Simon was born in the late 25th century, and raised on Osiris, a Core World planet that was run by the Alliance government, to a family who supported unification of the planets in a time when that particular argument was up in the air. This means that when the Government was formed, he was one of the families on one of the planets that was happy for the final decision. 

Simon was always exceptionally bright, and did well in school in all subjects. He was encouraged by his father to pursue a career in medicine, and while it may not have been his first choice if left to him, it was a career that he truly enjoyed. He liked feeling like he was making a difference. 

That is, until his younger sister - a child whom Simon has said made him look like he was no more than an idiot child - was sent away to a special school known as the Academy. Simon was concerned about the time she spent there, and the few letters that he received from her, and how... garbled they appeared to her. Eventually, he determined that River and the others at the school were being harmed. He threw away his life, his career, his future, his savings... everything, to rescue her from that school. 

This led to his eventual encounter with the smugglers on the Firefly class transport ship Serenity, where Simon and River eventually made their home.

As previously stated, Simon holds proper ettiquette and lifestyle fairly high about all other things. He speaks in proper language and rarely swears unless it is appropriate, he tends to think before he speaks (leading in most cases to extreme over-thinking) and he tends to be overly cautious about anything and everything he does. He doesn't get along well with many people because of his class and attitude. 

Though not prone to fighting, if pressed Simon can hold his own for a time, but he doesn't like to do so. He is more of a pacifist. 

There is one person that he cares about more than anyone else in the world - his younger sister, River.

Simon has a bad habit over over-thinking simple problems, and can be quite set in his ways. Sometimes he misses new ideas, or doesn't see the big picture when he's looking at an issue.
