BIO: Darl Rayne
Darl Rayne
"Oh come on Neville - lighten up a bit. Where's your sense of adventure? And don't give me that 'overruled by sense in general' nonsense."
Though it is never said out loud, both Allyson and Darl are fully aware that they are mistakes, and have spent their entire life subconsciously trying to make up for it, doing everything they could to please their father. Allyson is usually more successful at this, but that is because Darl is unwilling to sacrifices his morals for the sake of pleasing a man who cannot be pleased. As an adult, he eventually separated himself from his family and started carving out a new path which led him back to Hogwarts. He still speaks to Allyson on occasion, but has not seen or spoken to his parents in over a decade - he may not know if they died.
Darl is good natured, with what appears to be infinite patience. It takes a lot to "ruffle his feathers", so to speak. He's quick witted, and clever, but tends to find unusual things amusing. He could laugh himself silly at a design on a leaf that no one understands, while only chuckle slightly at a good joke that brings tears to everyone else's eye. He is easily distracted from what he was talking about, or what he was doing, and tends to tangent a lot, but he is not unintelligent.
Darl is a half-blooded wizard. He has a 11 1/2" wand made of oak, with a unicorn hair core. He was in Hufflepuff when he was in school, and in his later life took a position as the Hogwarts Potions Professor. His boggart is his father, and his patronus is a ferret.

The children of Harry Potter and the others of that time have never experienced the first-hand suspicion and fear that those around them could be working for a Dark Lord. Inter-House relations at Hogwarts are at an all-time high (with exceptions, of course), and the thought of anything worse than a harmless grudge are far from the children's minds. Until now. Hoping to establish stronger ties with the wizarding world in general, the Ministry once again instated the Tri-Wizard tournament last term. Despite initial reluctance over the tournament's safety record, things seemed to go smoothly as Beuxbaton's Champion won the day.
The European Quidditch Cup is set to be held in August and certain circles have been spreading rumors. Those who are against the Ministry are ready to act, and a meeting is to be held during the Cup to decide on the best course of action. With some of the most influential pureblood families stepping forward to stop what the wizarding world has been achieving, only time will tell whether the new and improved Ministry will stand or fall.
